In complementarity with brothers, sisters and nuns, Lay Dominicans share the charism of St. Dominic through study, prayer, preaching and fraternal life. Community is what makes Dominicans uniquely Dominican, because it infuses everything else. A Dominican is best formed by the way the individual fits into a group and becomes part of a fraternity’s ethos.
